Here we are about 7 inches up the torso and I have to do a color change. Why? Because I’m cool like that. I misplaces my brand new mother-gifted cable needle *smacks head* but hope to find it soon. I don’t think I will be doing any more cables in this sweater, but it’s still nice to have just in case I feel like it on the sleeves or something. *tears* Oh well, I still have my stitch holders (ty again mom) so I can manage. The gauge on this I figured out with my new gauge reader that I just got yesterday says that I have 5 1/2 stitches per inch. I had figured 5 stitches with a ruler but then I added a row because I had a ladder going straight up my back.
I am learning a heap doing this sweater and I haven’t gotten to the sleeves yet. One thing I learned is if you use a stitch marker that is even a hair wider than a safety pin you will end up with … a ladder up your back. I learned how to fix the ladder using the dropped stitch method and the tail of my yarn. I also was able to figure out how to transition my pattern *almost* the way I wanted. I was going to make it into a circle at the top of the cables, but then thought better of it. So now my mint sweater is turning delft (blue) on me. It’s actually country blue so I could call it the ACountryMint (parody of accoutrement) sweater HEHE.
I’m silly today.
