Well I haven’t been posting much because when I made something, I couldn’t take pictures. Well now I have a new baby!!!

The Yes We Can Sweater

I was reading through a blog called 2 Sistahs Knit Together and found this gem of a sweater. It’s a full blown likeness of President-Elect Barack Obama in his famous red, white, and blue design. You can download the pattern here.

Lest I forget. The baby was born on November 3rd at 10:24pm. She was 9 pounds, 19 inches long. She is gorgeous!

Finished baby surprise

I finished the main part of the baby surprise, but now I am making a 3rd piece for it. It won’t take me very long to finish up once I actually sit down and do it. It’s just the fact that I am restless and thinking of all the things I have to do right now… The other pieces came out so adorable. It was a joy to do! I wonder if I will want to do more baby things for charity sometime soon, since it was so fun to do.

I am back knitting and taking months off has taken its toll. I am not nearly as fast as I was last season, but I am sure by the end of this shrug, I will be close. It is in the vintage seal brown that I adore so much. I was trying to get it done by Sunday morning, I am about halfway there right now. It is a pattern I am making up as I go along. I think I started it on Sunday evening. I hope to be able to get a picture soon, I am having camera issues. So, what are you working on?

I did finish I just didnt post it. i am not happy with it. The collar fit differently when I was trying it on in process. Now it’s too far back on my neck and I abhor it.

There was this weird gap under my armpit, so I fixed that. There was also a weird one where the V met in the middle…also fixed. I just DON”T like it. I am going to unravel the entire thing and do it over, or switch directions or something. It feels heavenly. The yarn is so nice. I am just overly displeased. It’s the only thing I can honestly say that I made and do not like.

On the sleeves

I am now finishing the first of the 2 sleeves on the sweater. I think it is going to be a quarter sleeve instead ofa long sleeve. It just doesn’t seem to be telling me it wants long sleeves. It is coming out really great. I did make one kind of annoying mistake on the underarms, but I will know not to do that again if I ever make this sweater in another color. I am contemplating making it out of the blue colorspun, since it seems to only be taking 2.5 skeins of yarn. That would be for my son, though.
